3 Partial Fiction By Leigh Ledbetter

Posted on July 3, 2021

The author of the 3-piece fantasleigh Ledger character has come back to save the Christmas elves in her latest novel. She has written a heart-warming and entertaining read about how the writer overcame manic depression and came out a stronger person. Ms. Ledger shows the reader how she overcame manic depression and what Christmas means to her family. This book will bring a smile to everyone’s face as they remember this story of how the writer came out the stronger person she was the next year.

The book starts off in January 2021 with the author having just started her second year at college. Things are good but not so great. Life seems to be all business and no joy for the writer. The winter before her senior year, even though she loved Christmas still felt sad and empty. So much of her childhood had been spent on stories and she wanted to tell them again but she didn’t know how or when.

One early Christmas morning, right before her mother got up, she took out her old notebooks and thumbed through them one by one. She wanted to write this particular story but didn’t want to disturb her parents. It was the middle of spring, when she found the courage to open up her books and tell them the story of how she came to find hope amidst a life of darkness and despair. It was her first published short story and although it was her first published book, she knew it would be well received and enjoyed by her fans.

The author tells the story of Holly Golightly, who during Christmas time went away to stay with her aunt and uncle in England. Her aunt gave her a box that contained many gifts that were wrapped in paper. Among the many gifts were a beautiful dress, silver spoon, crystal glasses, porcelain cookware, silver tea set, and a stuffed calf from a calfskin teddy. She thought these were very nice gifts and kept them in the box. After her aunt and uncle died, Holly had nowhere else to go and her aunt’s last remaining grandchild told her to use the box as a means to escape.

Shortly thereafter, Holly met and fell in love with Peter Mulally, a young man from New York City. They were best friends for several years until Peter proposed to her on her birthday. They were happily married for thirty-nine years until a tragic day. A plane crashed into the forest near their home and Holly’s beloved husband, Alain, died in the crash. She instantly broke down when she learned of her husband’s death and became isolated from everyone. She felt as though she was no longer part of the entire Deer family and was beginning to hallucinate.

As a means to get her sanity back, she visited a therapist, Dr. Alice Cross, who was kind enough to give her the name of the man who she loved, along with the address of his house. After some time spent at the therapist’s office, Holly returned home only to find that the name and address were not corrected. When she asked the therapist about the incident, she was told that Alain had committed suicide while at work. Although this story is filled with holes and inconsistencies, it still remains a touching part of the story that makes you cry.

Partially due to her mental state, Holly eventually found herself working as a receptionist at an accounting firm. She gradually became more comfortable with her new job and started to develop feelings for her boss, John de Luca. The story ends there, as John and Holly end up falling in love and married each other.

The three-part story is an interesting one and definitely worth your read. If you are looking for a steamy, suspenseful read, you won’t go wrong with this one. It’s a great little tale that will make you think. For me, I would recommend this to any woman who hasn’t read anything by Leigh Ledbetter.
